Lock on Riehenteich
I read that this artificial waterway, called Riehenteich, built around 1300, was at some point of the last century the worsely polluted water stream in Europe. The offending chemical industries moved away ad the canal section that flew under the city has been covered since. The remaining section is now clean and powering a small hydroelectrical powerplant.
