Salita Malacarne, Saluzzo
Visiting my hometown for Christmas, I manage to sneak in one drawing. I am always wondering what was the thought process during these houses renovations in the past. So you have a beautiful renaissance building, with big arching windows and covered with trompe-l'œil frescos: why on Earth you gonna open small square windows in random places of the facade and paint everything up with a dull uniform color? Even the archway under which I was sitting was up until recently walled shut. I guess it depends on money constraint and general cultural decline.
